Yılmaz Bektas studied at the College T.E.D in turkey and graduated from Cyprus Girne American University School of Political Sciences with a BSc in Economics and He received his master’s study from the University of Richmond (UK). Between 2004 and 2019, he served as a diplomat the permanent undersecretary of ministry responsible for the economy. He founded the intel group of companies in 2000 and continues to invest in many industries.

As of 16 October 2024, Yılmaz Bektaş successfully continued his diplomatic career at the United Nations.

He is a member of the Standing Committee of the United Nations Defence Commission.

He plays a critical role as a diplomat responsible for human rights, weapons of mass destruction, war crimes and related monitoring and inspection processes.
